The Splatoon 2 Direct just ended and here are all the new details.

If you missed it, you can watch it below:

There’s going to be a demo for Splatoon 2 through the Splatfest World Premiere Demo that will take place on July 15 from 5 PM until 9 PM. You can download the demo from July 7. There’s a lot of cosmetic and gameplay changes in Splatoon 2 ranging from gear to custom styles and even rankings. Inklings can be customized across their hair style, skin tone, eye colour, and more. There’s a Galleria in Inkopolis where you can view the latest fashion trends and even buy various items. Gear in Splatoon 2 will give you special abilities and gear can even be freshened up.

Splatoon 2 will let you change the control sensitivity for TV and handheld mode. Amiibo functionality lets you save control settings, loadouts, and more. Tapping Splatoon series amiibo can even reward you with exclusive gear. The new salmon run mode has local and online support but the online mode will only be available at select times like Splatfest. This is pretty disappointing.

Nintendo also spoke about updates for Splatoon 2. It will be supported with regular updates that include new weapons, gear, and stages. There will be a mobile app called the Nintendo Switch Online app that launches on July 21. This will let you view SplatNet 2 that has various info about your gameplay and will let you party up and use voice chat.

The highlight of the show most definitely is the replacement of Callie and Marie with Pearl and Marina. Yes, that actually happened. Watch them being revealed below:

Splatoon 2 launches on July 21 for Nintendo Switch.
