Halo 3 ODST Vidoc 2: Firefight

The Bungie PR machine is at it again folks! A month or so ago we brought you the first vidoc (Desperate Measures) which briefly told us about the story of the single player campaign and now we have for you the second vidoc which advertises the multiplayer element of the game. Firefight is slightly shorter than Desperate Measures and is presented by enigmatic Sgt. Johnson. The cinematic fashion in which the vidoc is presented is classic Halo and really hypes up the game to get all us gamers excited for its September release.

The new video explains how the Firefight mode works, a round consists of 5 waves of enemies with 3 rounds amounting to a set however it  doesn’t stop there. Skulls (much like the ones found in previous Halo games) play a huge part and they can be activated to make the experience harder in a number of ways.

Iron – Respawns disabled

Tough Luck – Enemies always evade danger

Catch – Enemies throw a lot of grenades

Black Eye – The only way to regain health is to melee an enemy

Tilt – Enemy shields deflect bullets

Famine – Dropped weapons have low ammo

Mythic – Enemies have 2x health

Sgt. Johnson goes on to tell us there will be special achievements to be obtained in Firefight as well as the good old Halo medals. The Sarge closes by telling us to go pre-order the game to unlock a special player character which is Johnson himself. There is not much new information in this vidoc but it is definitely nice to see all the information on Firefight compiled in to great looking video. Please let us know what you think about this second vidoc; does it entice you to pre-order the game if you haven’t already?

You may remember me from video features such as the Cataclysm Beta and HowToStarCraftII.

My gaming upbringing was a mixture of NES, SNES and Megadrive before my brother decided to convert to the church of PlayStation.

Nowadays I have my own cash and own all of the major consoles and a top of the range gaming PC. Dropping a grand to upgrade my PC is not a huge decision, it's a requirement! If you can't find me on the PS3 or 360 then I am probably on my PC playing the latest MMO, RTS or FPS.
