New Splatoon Trailer shows Single Player

by on November 6, 2014

Today’s Nintendo Direct featured a new trailer for Splatoon that includes the first footage of the title’s single player mode.

In single player it appears that you will be playing as an inkling and doing battle against an army of tentacles monstrosities based on Octopus.

The key ink gimmick appears to be in full effect, with enemies able to spread opposing colours of ink, alongside ink spewing death traps and turrets capable of spewing massive globs of the stuff.

The trailer also seems to confirm that you will be able to customise your character’s loadout in multiplayer, with both a roller and sniper seen in full effect upon spawn. In previous demo builds, only the machine gun was available.

The trailer also seems to show new super weapons, such as the huge ink bombs and a temporary shield. In previous demos, only the rocket launcher was available.

Oh, and woolly hats.

With Splatoon set for a Spring release in Japan, and a Q2 release in Europe, it won’t be long until Nintendo’s curious shooter is in our hands.
