Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have today announced a tournament to find the best Mortal Kombat player in the United Kingdom, and the grand final will take place at the UK’s largest consumer electronics event, The Gadget Show Live, which will be held at the Birmingham NEC on April 17th.

The final will take place in front of the gamers and Gadget fans at the NEC in the Mortal Kombat ‘Fight Arena’, which will be located in the Over 18 Gaming Zone at the show. However, players wanting to reach the final will have to get through several qualifying rounds, which will take place between March 14th and April 4th, and will be held at various GameStation and GAME stores throughout the UK. The grand prize for the tournament will be a full size Mortal Kombat arcade machine cabinet, which contains a PlayStation 3 console.

The ‘Fight Arena’ at The Gadget Show Live will allow visitors their first opportunity to play on the new bone-crushing, blood-spilling action of the latest instalment in the Mortal Kombat franchise, on a massive High Definition projection screen. Spot Prizes will be available on the day for strong fighters who didn’t qualify for the finals, but show off their skills at the event. The UK and European finals will take place on Sunday 17th April and will be hosted by GameFace TV presenter, Julia Hardy.
