Papa & Yo Announced As Part Of PSN Play 2012Last year saw PlayStation’s first Summer of Arcade style promotion in, PSN Play. Today, we’ve learned that said promotion is coming back this year with some top-tier games included such as, Papa & Yo. Developed by indie studio Minority, it tells the story of a young boy named Quico and his best friend Monster. Like any good beast with razor sharp teeth, Monster has an addiction to poisonous frogs, an addiction that Quico must cure. This game has been on many radars and it’s the marquee title in PSN Play 2012.

PSN Play begins on 31st July – but all games can be pre-ordered a week before they release – the games in the promotion are:

  • The Expendables 2 Videogame – 31st July
  • Sound Shapes – 7th August
  • Papa & Yo – 17th August
  • Counter Strike: Global Offensive – 21st August

Papa & Yo – and all of the other games in the promotion – will release on the US PSN Store for $14.99 ($11.99 for PlayStation Plus users). Those who buy two or more of PSN Play’s offerings will also get a bonus PSN cash voucher. Not a bad deal at all.

Creative Director of Papa & Yo Vander Cabellero said:

SCEA has been very supportive of us throughout the development of Papa & Yo and that has given us the ability to really make sure our game is the best possible experience. We are incredibly proud to have our first game chosen as one of this year’s PlayStation Network PLAY titles!
