First 20 Minutes: Doom 3 BFG Edition

by on October 17, 2012

Back in 2004, id Software released Doom 3 to much fanfare thanks to the wonderful (at the time) visuals and unnerving gameplay.

But it’s 2012 now, some 8 years on, and Bethesda have put together a package containing Doom 1, 2 and 3, along with the Resurrection of Evil add-on pack for Doom 3 and some brand new story levels called “The Lost Mission”, which is apparently hours of new content and seven new levels.

But that isn’t all, Doom 3 has been completely re-mastered, including a touch-up for the controls, stereoscopic 3D support, achievements, trophies…what we’re saying here is that this is as impressive collection for Doom fans. More than that though, the gameplay appears to have held up really well. This also marks the very first time a Doom game has appeared on the PlayStation 3!

So join Adam and Calvin as they reminisce about the game, whilst seeing how this new version looks.

DOOM 3 BFG Edition is available now in North America for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. It will be released in Europe on October 19.
