Activision Announces New Multiplayer Map as Pre-Order Bonus for Call of Duty: Ghosts

Activision has announced a day one DLC map as a pre-order bonus for customers who reserve their copy of upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Ghosts. The multiplayer map, entitled ‘Free Fall’, sees players battling in close quarters in a shattered skyscraper on the brink of collapse. This pre-order incentive is available exclusively through Game in the UK and Gamestop in Ireland.

The dynamic map aims to add a level of uncertainty as the environment shifts during the course of the battle, according to Infinity Wards, Mark Rubin.

As the match progresses, the geometry of the world continues to change and players need to adjust on the fly or else. It’s a really fun new feature that adds layers of strategy and constantly evolving gameplay options for players.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is the latest iteration of the long-running, hugely popular series and was first showcased at this years ‘Xbox Reveal’ event. The game is set for release November 5 across multiple formats including Xbox One and PS4.

This could be an attempt to catch up with Battlefields praised destructible environments, a feature noticeably absent from the Call of Duty series.
