Steam have put up a website that promises some sort of living room experience for the digital platform. Something more convenient than the Big Picture mode that already exists, that is.
The countdown points to a Monday reveal for the product that will ‘connect the dots for customers who want Steam in the living-room’. The excitement.
More curiously the site also says ‘Soon, we’ll be adding you to our design process, so that you can help us shape the future of Steam.’ Quite what Valve have in store, I’m interested to find out, but I predict lots of tick boxes. If I could, I’d ask that it could make me a cuppa while I play, also meaning that the box would produce Steam from the boiling water and be true to its name.
The Steam Box has been a known quantity for a while, so it’s nice to see that something more concrete is waiting just around the corner. Now announce that USB arcade sticks will work with it and I’ll be happy.
