by on April 24, 2014

It’s not too long until Mario Kart 8 hits the stores and Wii U users get to experience those adrenaline-filled races, once again. Nintendo have announced that, at launch, fans will be able to purchase a Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack – Special Edition Wii U hardware bundle.

This Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack – Special Edition contains a black Wii U Premium console with 32GB of storage, a black Wii U GamePad controller, Sensor Bar, and, of course, the Mario Kart 8 game, itself. As we know, that isn’t the only special edition of the game available – Fans of the franchise can purchase the Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition software bundle, which comes with a copy of the game and a Spiny Shell Collector’s Item.

Mario Kart 8 features hours and hours of content, including 32 racing tracks – 16 brand new courses and 16 remixed classic courses for the fans of previous installments. The upcoming game allows players and their opponents to race upside down and up vertical surfaces. For multiplayer, the game will allow 12-player online competitive play, and, of course, the beloved four-player local multiplayer. Mario Kart 8 will be released on May 30th.

Nintendo also tell us that you can buy the bundle from their store, here.

It’s verra verra late to the party but it could be the reason I pick up a WiiU. Will it save the system? I don’t know but I’m tempted by this over a PS4 atm.

Hard to know, I mean, the Wii U has some great first party games: Pikmin, Mario, etc. But the PS4 will eventually come into its own at some point, game-wise.
