Smite Heading to Xbox One

by on August 12, 2014

Smite, the popular third person MOBA is heading to the Xbox One to make its console debut. The announcement was made during the ID@Xbox portion of the Xbox Conference at Gamescom.

Chris Charla, head of ID@Xbox was responsible for making the announcement and said Smite is a MOBA that feels like it should be played with a controller. Lets just hope that the control scheme transitions well to the console.

Smite is currently gaining a lot of traction in the eSports scene, and is starting to challenge the big boys such as LoL, Dota and Hearthstone for Twitch viewers. The move onto Xbox One will only bring in more players so it is not unreasonable to think that Smite could become one of the biggest eSports out there within a few years.

Personally I will be interested to see just how well the game works on the Xbox One and if console players are ready to embrace a proper MOBA. But right now I’m off to download Smite on PC to give it a try, anyone up for joining in?
