Blizzard eSports Tournaments Kick off in Europe

by on September 19, 2014

Blizzard are hosting an eSports tournament in Stockholm next week, where top players from a host of Blizzard titles will battle it out in a series of regional tournaments.

Competitors have already proven themselves in the online qualifiers for Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, and StarCraft II to reach the tournaments, which will take place on 26-27 September.

The top 16 European Hearthstone players will compete to be one of four that will represent Europe at the World Championship at BlizzCon in Novemeber, with $100,000 awaiting the winner of that tournament.

Likewise 8 3×3 WoW arena teams will duke it out, with the top 3 invited to BlizzCon.

Then there is Starcrft II, the game of choice for the DreamHack Open 2014. Some of the world’s best StarCraft II players – including ToD, Golden, Hyun, and PiG –  will take part, with World Championship points and a place at the World Championships at BlizzCon among the incentives to win, as well as a share of a $25,000 prize pool.
