Gamescom 2010: Age of Empires Online Revealed

by on August 17, 2010

If you’ve never heard of or played an Age of Empires game than you’ve probably never really been a PC gamer and should set fire to your tower right now! Microsoft are in Cologne for the Gamescom event and have decided to announce a couple of titles for the Games for Windows platform. One of those games happens to be Age of Empires Online. Robot Entertainment will be taking on the task of development and have gone for a “cartoony” look that looks quite pretty in its own right.

The game will come equipped with persistent online worlds, quests, leveling and everything you would expect to be included in a MMO and will also have all the benefits of a Games for Windows game. In short you’ll be able to stalk and message your friends in-game, which is always fun.

If this sounds like your cup of tea then you should probably head over to the Age of Empires Online website and register your interest for the beta now. Before you do that though you might want to watch the trailer. Enjoy!
