The Godcast: Season 5 Episode 35

by on May 13, 2013

Our News Editor, Colm Ahern returns this week and he’s excited to have finally played (and thus talk about) DmC: Devil May Cry. Remember Me is discussed, and Adam attempts an explanation of the combat, while Calvin has grabbed Injustice: Gods Among Us, and rather likes it.

Monaco: What’s Mine is Yours came out on Xbox LIVE Arcade last week (previously only available on PC, coming soon to Mac), so Adam and Colm talk about that some, too.

There’s an extended news section this week, as Nintendo’s Wii U starts to become the bullied child at school, the trio try and find some positivity in among the constant negativity.

Aside from just listening on this very page, we’ve made it easy to follow the show on as many devices as possible. You can subscribe via iTunes or Feedburner (for you Android users), or you can even listen to the podcast via Stitcher, the mobile internet radio app that we highly recommend. If you’d prefer a simple old-fashioned MP3 download, you can do so by right clicking here then selecting save file.

Can’t agree with the DmC opinions. Well, it’s a great game that I enjoyed quite a bit, particularly artistically, but it lacks the necessary spontaneity that elevates an action game from being a fun bit of hack and slash to truly compelling status. I stopped playing DmC at the start of my third run because I’d gotten bored of the clunky ‘this move for this enemy, this move for this’ block and hole combat. Revengeance is the infinitely superior action game; no competition.

Fair enough, but I can’t get behind MGR > DmC, no sir! :-P
