Minecraft Has Already Sold Over One Million Copies on PS3

by on January 26, 2014

Over on Mojang’s official blog, they have announced the (frankly) astounding news that the PS3 edition of Minecraft has already sold over a million copies.

Just wanted to let you know that Minecraft on PS3 recently sold over 1 million copies (that has to be some kind of record on PSN, no?). It is crazy considering the game was released just before Christmas last year. We are super grateful for the support and we are very thankful for your dedication and I hope you will like the future updates we have planned for you (more on that in a later blog post).

Now, given that it’s only been out just over a month, you can probably get some idea of how impressive that figure it is. Not least because it’s already available on Xbox 360, PC (obviously) and most tablet devices. It’s still yet to come to PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita (that’s the version I’m dying to play) so it doesn’t look like one of the biggest (and best, if you ask me) games ever made is going to stop making cash any time soon.

Have you jumped in to Minecraft now that it’s available on PS3? How are you finding it? Let us know in the comment section below.
