Lace Mamba Global have now revealed that the forthcoming retail release of the critically-acclaimed point & click adventure game – The Book of Unwritten Tales – will be packaged with a selection of bonus items for gamers to look forward to. The game is due out on October 28th, and in the box you can expect to find; a 36 page art book of concept and character design work from the title, a complete soundtrack CD of music found in the title and a double-sided A2 artwork poster and map of the mythical land featured in the game. This version of the game will retail for £24.99 in the UK.

The Book of Unwritten Tales is a humorous point & click adventure homage to the RPG and fantasy genres, its books, movies and games. Filled with plenty of weird characters and dark humour, the game features four playable heroes: The little gnome Wilbur, the elf princess Ivo, a human adventurer named Nate, and The Critter, a shaggy creature that Nate adopted on one of his journeys, and hasn’t stopped trotting behind him ever since. Their skills have to be used wisely to solve the game’s puzzles, particularly on those that can only be solved by working as a team.

In a world torn by war, the aged gremlin archaeologist Mortimer MacGuffin harbours the dark secret of a powerful artefact. Whoever calls this artefact his own, will determine the fate of the world. While the Army of the Shadows sends out its best and most devious agents to discover the secret, the Alliance’s four heroes find themselves involuntarily drawn into the crisis…

Featuring about 20 hours of gameplay in a massive game world with detailed graphics, The Book of Unwritten Tales offers more than 150 mind-boggling puzzles and numerous crazy characters, ranging from two-headed ogres and vegetarian dragons to good-natured zombies.

The game was a huge hit in its native Germany, and it does look like it could be at the top of the list of Adventure Gamers in the UK – to fiond out why, check out our sneak preview of the title from last week here.

The Book of Unwritten Tales is due for release on PC in the UK on October 29th, 2011.
