Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Launch Trailer Looks Amazing

by on October 19, 2011

Naughty Dog has today gone live with the full cinematic launch trailer for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and boy does it look good. When the title was announced in December 2010, its first trailer had some clues to the story of the game, including something to do with Drake finding the Iram of the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and the lost city of Ubar.

This new trailer doesn’t go much deeper into that, but we are reminds us of the tone of this hugely anticipated title, and it looks fantastic. We learn that this title is going to be full of mystery and puzzles as Drake tries to uncover, and piece together, the clues left behind by Francis Drake and Lawrence of Arabia.

With just two weeks until its release date, this spectacular trailer will do nothing to suppress the excitement levels of those who have pre-ordered this game. The trailer lasts just under two minutes 30 seconds, check it out below.

While Naughty Dog is clearly limited to what graphical improvements it can make with Uncharted 3, considering the age of the PlayStation 3, the development team has clearly gone to great lengths to up the ante with everything else in the game. One moment in the trailer where Nathan Drake throws his gun at an enemy saying “Hold this” and then punching him in the face stood out as a super cool moment — and that was just a tiny piece of detail.

Judging by the information made available to date, Uncharted 3’s single player campaign looks to be the biggest yet, and we haven’t even got started on the multiplayer, which has been available to PlayStation Plus subscribers around the world for a little while now. We played some a while back, and feel free to check out our multiplayer impressions.
