Play the “Mount Jackmore” Challenge and Win Borderlands 2 Mega Loot!
2K Games and Gearbox continue to whet our appetite for their loot-a-holic sequel Borderlands 2 with yet another off-the-wall marketing strategy. Following on from their 80’s-style de-make The Border Lands and, of course, the Borderlands 2 Top Trumps deck that sis the rounds last month, they’ve now launched an online game called Mount Jackmore – and playing it can net you all manner of groovy Borderlands 2 gear.
The background story is that new antagonist Handsome Jack has carved his face into the side of a mountain in a Mount Rushmore-stylee. All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is head over to the website and accept the challenge of blowing his smiling face to pieces. You’ll begin with only 100 bullets for your weapon of choice, with the option to earn more each day by inviting your friends to participate. As you smash the rock to smithereens, prizes will be awarded at pre-determined points and so the onus is on hitting the right spot at the right time.
As you can see, Gearbox are giving away quite a range of prizes from badges and figurines to free copies of the game – and the player who blows away the final piece will recieve a special “mystery prize”. Oh, and there are sixteen Limited Edition Borderlands 2 Ultimate Loot chests hidden there, too. There will be four rounds, each lasting for a week, and the first one begins today. Unfortunately for you minors out there, entrants must be over 18.
Borderlands 2 is developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games, and will launch in North America on September 18th and across Europe on September 21st.
