Gran Turismo 6 is Coming to PS3, According to Sony Europe’s Senior VP
Prior to the release of Gran Turismo 5, it was confirmed that development had already begun on Gran Turismo 6. As crazy as that may sound for your average series, GT’s dev cycle is a lot longer than most, so I guess they wanted to get going as soon as possible.
The majority of those who watch the PlayStation Meeting 2013 were shocked to see DriveClub being shown off, when it was expected that a Gran Turismo titled would show up in some form, for PS4. Well, via IGN, we’ve learned that in an interview with Silicon Republic, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Michael Denny blurted out that GT6 is coming to PlayStation 3, not PlayStation 4.
“You look at the games coming out on PlayStation 3 this year, [like] The Last of Us, Beyond, GT6…”
The fact that the car-porn title is coming to PS3, isn’t as surprising as some may think. With development beginning way back in 2010, it makes sense that Polyphony would prep their game for release on Sony’s current-gen system. As soon as we learn more on the game, we’ll be sure to let you know.
