Microsoft Announce New Xbox Fitness Service

by on September 27, 2013

Microsoft have today announced a new online service that will be coming to Xbox One, known as Xbox Fitness. The new service will be open to Gold Xbox LIVE members, allowing them to access some of the most popular fitness videos and programmes in the world, and makes them into interactive experiences – through the use of Kinect.

Through the use of Kinect, Xbox One will be able to track your heart rate, measure your balance, tempo and form, and keep track of which muscle groups you have worked on. Users will also be able to set both friends and theirselves challenges, and set-up different workouts – based on recommendations from your Xbox Fitness history, and the most popular ones amongst the online community.

The service will feature videos from trainers such as; Beachbody’s P90X (Tony Horton) and INSANITY (Shaun T), Jillian Michaels, Tracy Anderson and more. The service will launch this Christmas, and will be activated through your Xbox Fitness Pass – which will be free with Xbox LIVE Gold memberships purchased up until December next year. Great news for gamers who will want to sweat off Christmas dinner as soon as possible!
