Video Games Live: Level 3 Reaches Kickstarter Goal

by on September 12, 2013

All this week, I’ve been posting about Video Games Live to drum up support for their Level 3 album/DVD Kickstarter. Well, I bring you good news as the campaign has been successful, reaching $257,966 – Surpassing the $250,000 target with 26 hours to go!

So to celebrate, they’ve announced that Valve will also have a presence on the new album, with a special arrangement of the DOTA 2 soundtrack; recently this track was played live during a Comic Con performance which was streamed via Twitch.tv:

Video Games Live co-founder, Tommy Tallarico; had this to say about the success:

“I would like to thank all of our backers, those who could not back but socialized the cause and to every single person who has ever attended Video Games Live, thank you! In the immortal lyrics from Portal: ‘This was a triumph. I’m making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS. It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction.”

On that note, it’s also been revealed that an arrangement of Portal’s iconic “Still Alive” will be added to Level 3 as a special bonus track – Plus, a vocal version performed by Peter Hollens will also be added to the Level 3 BONUS ROUND album, especially for Kickstarter backers.

Great new for fans of video game music everywhere!
