Watch The Opening CG Movie From FFXIII: Lightning Returns
Over the last few months we have seen an awful lot of footage and screenshots from the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII sequel – Lightning Returns. And it doesn’t look like that constant stream of updates is going away any time soon, with Square Enix releasing a new video for the game online today.
The video has been put together by the legendary Visual Works studio from Square Enix, and is, in actuality, the opening introduction sequence that will feature in the game, Lightning Returns. The video helps to set up the desperate situation faced in the game, where the world of Nova Chrysalia will see its own destruction in only 13 days. We join the video in Yusnaan, where our hero Lightning enters the fray.
The video seems to ask many questions, rather than provide answers – and it undoubtedly sets up many of the mysteries and main plot threads that players will explore throughout the game. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is scheduled to be released in Europe on February 14 2014 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
