PS4 to Vita Remote Play Tested on Mobile Network

by on November 19, 2013

YouTube user The Phawx has uploaded a video showing remote play over an LTE mobile network.

The video shows the Vita connecting to the phone, and then to the PS4. Phawx then boots up Resogun and while there is a minor smidge of input lag, it seems almost playable. Remarkable, given the conditions.

LTE is a 4G connection, so as interesting as the video is it’s worth realising the harsh truth that your 3G connection probably won’t be up to it.

That said it’s still a tantalising glimpse into the functionality and ease of remote play, and it will only be easier as Internet connections improve. Sides, while the input lag is a killer for an action game or fighter, this wouldn’t be an issue with a video, or a slower paced game like an RPG or a puzzler.

Check out the video below and, because I’m interested, do tell me if you’re going to be using remote play between your Vita and PS4. It’s a cool feature, and I want to know how you’re looking forward to using it…
