Free-To-Play Crazy Taxi: City Rush Announced By SEGA

by on March 14, 2014

SEGA seem to enjoy reviving some of their old gaming titles and giving them a new slant on mobile devices, and today’s new announcement continues that trend. A new free-to-play spin-off from the Crazy Taxi series has now been announced by SEGA – entitled Crazy Taxi: City Rush – and the game will be released on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android devices later in the year.

Original series creator Kenji Kanno is back on board for the new title, and is joining forces with Hardlight Studios to bring intuitive touch-based controls to the game. The title will be free to download when it launches, although it will most likely be powered by micro-transactions that are related to the many customisation and upgrade options that have already been touted.

Kanno states:

“We are delivering a truly fun game that captures everything our fans love about the original and infusing it with several new features to create an even more fantastic and memorable experience.”

The game has already soft launched in some test regions, but is still a way off from its full release. To tide you over in the meantime, SEGA have made the original Crazy Taxi game free to download in the App Store and on Google Play for a limited time.
