Football Manager’s Database Will Be Used By Professional Clubs For Scouting

by on August 11, 2014

Football scouting is no easy task. Finding the best players isn’t just a case of hearing good things about them, you have to watch them play (multiple times) to see if they really are that good and if they fit into your team. That is just at under 12’s and 13’s kids football in the Mid Lincs league so I can only imagine what its like at a professional level.

Fortunately Sports Interactive is here to help all you professional football scouts who are totally reading this right now. The team behind the Football Manager series has partnered with a company known as Prozone Sports to allow professional clubs access to their massive database.

Prozone Sports has a piece of software known as Prozone Recruiter. This software is a collection of information and video on all the best footballing talents in the world. The partnership with Sports Interactive means that all the biographical, contractual and positional information from the Football Manager Database will be merged into the Recruiter to give professional teams more accurate information about potential acquisitions.

Prozone CEO Thomas Schmider had quite a lot to say about the partnership.

“Prozone RECRUITER has been built to supplement the intuition of scouts and coaches by delivering detailed performance information on over 80,000 players worldwide,”

“It’s not a one-size-fits-all solution, instead it’s been designed to empower clubs to tailor its functionality to suit their own unique recruitment requirements.”

“The Sports Interactive database is a highly accurate and valuable resource that will further enhance the recruitment services that we provide. Complementing our exhaustive technical data and video footage with excellent biographical, contractual and positional information, the integration of Sports Interactive data further establishes RECRUITER as the most comprehensive recruitment and asset management platform available.”

Then Sports Interactive Studio Director Miles Jacobson, who announced Football Manager 15 last week, said this.

“For years we’ve heard stories of real-life managers and scouts using our data to help with the recruitment process,”

“From now on, it’s official…real managers around the world will be finding and comparing players using data and a search system that will be very familiar to players of Football Manager.”

“The information gathered by our network of more than 1,300 scouts around the world, combined with Prozone’s amazing performance data, makes this an invaluable tool for any football club that takes player recruitment seriously.”

Now I just have to hope that Sports Interactive decide to add Lincolnshire Youth Football to FM15 in order to make scouting a lot easier.
