The Football Manager Documentary Hits UK Cinemas This Year

by on September 12, 2014

Football Manager is a game that has not only had a massive influence on those that play it, but also the sport it imitates so well. Just the other month we reported that the FM database is being used for pro scouting. An Alternative Reality: The Football Manager Documentary is a new feature length film that examines just how much of an impact FM has had on football both in the UK and globally.

The documentary will be shown in at least 26 Vue cinemas across the county on the evening of Tuesday October 7th. A full list of the participating venues can be seen below. After the screening the film will be made available online.

Miles Jacobson, Studio Director of Sports Interactive, had this to say about the movie.

“The documentary isn’t our story – it’s the story of the people who escape to the alternative reality of being a football manager, and the effect this has had on their lives. It’s also the story of how a computer game made by football fans has become a part of the world it set out to replicate,”

“But it’s not just for people who play – it’s also for people who’ve ever wondered why others spend so much time escaping into this world.”

The screening of the film will be followed by the first showing of FM15’s new features and a Q&A from Miles himself.
