Sony detail their Playstation Now subscription plans

by on January 5, 2015

Sony has announced the price ranges and the launch date for their upcoming back-catalogue streaming service Playstation Now, at least for the US.

A while back, Sony rolled out the beta for the service and it immediately became apparent that the service was not going to be cheap. The hourly rate was way too high and to rent for any decent period of time for a single game would cost nearly what the game itself did.

Instead what Sony has now done is to provide subscription options. You’ll be able to sign up one month at a time or for a three month stint, $19.99 for the former $44.99 for the latter. With that you’ll be able to play all the games you want, as much as you want, for the period of your subscription.

At launch on January the 13th there’ll be over a hundred games available with a 7 day trial period for those unsure if they’ll get anything out of the service. Currently there is still no word as to when other regions will get this service.
