Over here in the UK Minecraft is being hailed by many in education as one of the best new educational tools in decades. However Australia aren’t quite as sold, as the Australian government’s Geoscience group has produced a poster that points out all the inaccuracies in Minecraft’s rock interaction.
Highlights from the poster (that can be seen here) include phrases such as “Obsidian is not resistant to TNT”, “Bedrock can be dug into but TNT is not essential for this” and my personal favorite “Putting cobblestone into a furnace will not create stone. It would, in fact, achieve nothing but a very warm rock.”
Oh and in case you didn’t know Minecraft is, according to Geoscience Australia “a popular computer game about blocks and rocks!”
