Disney Infinity 3.0 Out August 28

by on July 8, 2015

Disney Infinity 3.0: Play Without Limits will launch August 28, Disney has announced.

Three sets will be available at launch. The Starter pack includes the Star Wars Twilight of the Republic Play Set, the base game and power base, Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker character figures, and a web code card that unlocks content for PC and mobile devices. The Disney Infinity 3.0: Star War Special Edition (exclusive to PlayStation platforms), includes the above as well as the Star Wars Rise Against the Empire Play Set a month before general release. If you already own a Base, you can purchase the Twilight of the Republic Play Set or Inside Out Play Set as a stand alone.

Also, pre-order the Starter Pack, the Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars Special Edition, or the Disney Infinity 3.0 base software at certain retailers and you’ll get the Toy Box Takeover Game Piece for free. The blurb on this bit reads: “When Syndrome gets his hands on Merlin’s magic wand, it’s up to the player to stop him. Using their favorite characters in Disney Infinity, they must battle across multiple worlds, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Marvel’s Upper Manhattan, The Old West, or The Incredibles Volcano Lair to defeat the bad guys before they ruin the Toy Box forever. Players can complete missions with family and friends via two-player local co-op or four-player online.”

There’s also a new karting mode coming, which allows you to race any characters from the Disney Infinity universe across locales such as Tattooine, Frozen and Monsters Inc. They will be a race mode as well as a combat mode. It will be out in the Autumn, and you can check out screens for both Toybox Expansions below.
