Sony have announced that they will be increasing the prices of their one and three month PlayStation Plus subscriptions, while the annual option will remain at its usual £39.99.
The one month option currently costs £5.49 while the three month subscription will set you back £11.99. It is unknown how much the prices will rise, but Sony say the hike will bring the cost ‘in line with market conditions’.
In a statement to Eurogamer, an SCEE spokesperson, “We are dedicated to bringing PlayStation Plus members the best possible service with the most compelling content. From 1st September 2015 we will be increasing the price of monthly and three month PlayStation Plus subscriptions in line with market conditions. We will continue to invest in PS Plus to ensure an unparalleled experience, featuring the best quality games and features.”
MCV reports that by the end of 2014, PlayStation Plus had over 7.9m subscribers.
