It’s rare to see a long segment of gameplay like this, but 2K and Hangar 13 have shown off 22 minutes of Mafia 3, and it looks brilliant.
While it’s not 22 continuous minutes, it’s a lot of long segments which show the gunplay (which is always the thing I worry about in these huge GTA-like open worlds, but looks snappy and fast), as well as some cool sit-downs, where you (as the boss) have to decide which faction you trust. It looks like it’ll affect the story who you choose, and also the bonuses you get. Honestly, this has made the game go from “yeah, I’ll play it” to “I want to be already playing it”. Fair play, 2K.
There are nine districts, which 2K say are unique, and there looks to be stealth gameplay in among the shooting. Honestly though, it’s the atmosphere that impresses, down to the driving with Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Bad Moon Rising on the radio.
On top of that, there’s the E3 trailer, which is shorter at 2 minutes, but you should watch the above 22 minutes if you can.
