A couple of days ago now Blizzard announced that StarCraft II patch 1.3.0 was in development and available on the Public Test Realm (PTR). The patch much like many before it seems to tweak the ladder system, offers improvements to custom games and brings the nerf hammer to the table as balance issues are addressed.
One particular nerf to hit the Protoss in 1.3.0 is the removal of the Khaydarin Amulet upgrade, fans of the psionic race are not taking the decision lightly causing a storm about a lack of “storm” on the StarCraft II community forums.
Without the upgrade, the Protoss High Templar unit is rendered almost useless for a full 45 seconds after production. Instead of spawning with energy the Templar can now only gain energy over time delaying the use of both Prionic Storm and Feedback abilities. It is fair to say that Blizzard has a fight on it’s hands as Protoss fans and e-sports gamers are against the nerf.
