EA Sports Ignite Engine Doesn’t Support PC

One of the major things that EA was showing off at E3 was their new EA Sports Ignite engine.

In an interview with Polygon, Executive VP of EA Sports Andrew Wilson said that the engine which is being used to create FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, EA Sports UFC and NBA Live 14 does not currently support Wii U or PC. However, he did say that it may come to PC in the future.

Wilson stated that this new engine has been created with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in mind and most PCs on the market couldn’t run the Ignite titles. In time, however, with an upgrade in average PC hardware specs and an adjustment to the engine, it’s definitely possible we will see EA Sports Ignite on PC:

“There needs to be some adjustment in terms of how EA Sports Ignite works to facilitate the open nature of PC architecture, rather than the closed nature of console architecture.”

With the next generation looming and the resurgence of PC gamers, 2014 is going to be very interesting.
