Handheld Outing For Duke Nukem Gets A Trailer

by on April 7, 2011

In the run-up to the hugely anticipated release of Duke Nukem: Forever, Frontline Studios – in association with Apogee Software and Deep Silver Games – have planned the release of three new Duke Nukem games on the Nintendo DS, DSi and the Sony PlayStation Portable, entitled the Duke Nukem Trilogy. The first release in the series will be Duke Nukem: Critical Mass and it is going to be released in Europe tomorrow. In celebration of that fact, Apogee Software has released a launch trailer showing off the title in action on the DS. The game will be a hybrid 3D/2D side-scrolling platformer/shooter with first-person elements.

Duke’s original nemesis, Proton, is back and has unified all those who have opposed Duke in the past. The Earth Defense Force attempts to ensure the Earth’s continued security by transporting Duke into the future. Ironically, just moments after Duke’s departure, Proton launches a devastating attack on Earth!

Get the full Duke experience as you guide him through a world invaded by aliens. Save earth and of course all babes with blazing guns….or sometimes just a well placed kick of your mighty boot.

Check out the trailer below:

Duke Nukem: Critical Mass is the first game in a planned trilogy of handheld Duke games from Apogee Software and Deep Silver. The game will be released in Europe on April 8th and in North America on April 19th. Duke Nukem: Chain Reaction, and Duke Nukem: Proving Grounds will be the next two games in the series.
