UK gamers are in for a treat this September, as GAMEfest, a new consumer gaming event courtesy of retail giant GAME have announced some exclusive Nintendo and Disney stuff for UK gamers to get their grubby mitts on for the very first time. Having already had a chance to play some of these games at a recent Nintendo event that I was lucky enough to cover with my homie Adam Cook for God Is A Geek, I can confirm that it will be well worth the trip to have a crack at some of the excellent first party titles that will be playable. More on this terrific opportunity follows….

GAME, the UK’s leading games retailer today announces the addition of both Nintendo and Disney to the fantastic line-up for GAMEfest, the year’s newest and most exciting consumer gaming show.

Five Nintendo titles including The Legend of ZeldaTM: Skyward SwordMario Kart 7Super Mario 3D LandMetal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D and Kid Icarus: Uprising and Disney’s Disney Universe will all be available for gamers to experience at GAMEfest.

Fans of Zelda will not be disappointed when they get their hands on The Legend of ZeldaTM: Skyward Sword. Offering the most intuitive play control of any game in the series to date, this prequel title to Ocarina of Time, introduces full motion control, enabled by Wii MotionPlus™ meaning gamers movements are synchronised with hero Link’s actions. From firing a bow to tossing bombs at enemies, gamers will also be tasked with puzzles to solve to help Link discover where the evil Demon Lord Ghirahim has taken his childhood friend and future princess, Zelda.

As well as showcasing titles the whole family can enjoy, gamers will be eager to see Solid Snake smashing onto their 3DS screens at this year’s not to be missed event. Set in the 60s, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D sees Solid Snake on his first mission ever on the 3D Nintendo handheld.

In addition, Nintendo will also be celebrating the return of one of the most iconic franchises in the gaming giant’s history Kid Icarus. Designed specifically for the Nintendo 3DS this will be the first time, Kid Icarus: Uprising has been made available to play in the UK.

Gamers who enjoy the family fun of Disney will love the non-stop, off the wall action of Disney Universe. This adventure game allows up to four players to suit up in iconic character costumes and face various challenges in famous Disney worlds. Players work together to complete levels collecting coins and smashing their way through each platform whilst enemies try to hinder a player’s progress by setting traps and hiding key items during active gameplay.

GAME UK marketing director Anna-Marie Mason said: “From worlds inspired by Disney films to helping Nintendo’s world famous hero Link in Skyward Sword, we know gaming fans young and old will be in for a treat at this year’s GAMEfest. Thanks to the involvement of the industry’s top publishers, GAMEfest has something for the whole family to enjoy this September.”
