Those eagle-eyed gamers over on NeoGAF have spotted a tweet pointing towards a crowd-sourced Shenmue 3.
Sebastien Abdelhamid, who works for a big French TV company tweeted from the Monaco Anime Game Show, where Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki had been speaking.
His tweet was translated by GAF member Shuri as saying, “Yu Suzuki declares to be thinking about a kickstarter-LIKE model to fund Shenmue 3! #MAGS”
Abdelhamid later tweeted that Suzuki “would like to continue the Shenmue adventure in anime or manga form”.
Such a massive and long-awaited sequel could construct it’s own crowd-funding structure or utilise Kickstarter, either way there are going to be a lot of happy gamers should this come to fruition.
And a lot of unhappy wallets.
