Resident Evil 5 Tops Capcom’s All-Time Best Sellers

by on October 31, 2013

Capcom’s Japanese branch has posted an interesting list on their website, detailing their Top 100 best-selling games of all time and the results are quite surprising.

Naturally, Street Fighter games are a huge part of this list, but the Monster Hunter series also features heavily. But the surprising thing is how high some of the more recent Resident Evil entries have charted.

2009’s multi-format Resident Evil 5 has topped the list, with a massive 6,500,000 copies sold, with 1992’s SNES port of Street Fighter II closely following with an impressive 6,300,000 copies sold.

One thing to note, is that Mega Man’s highest entry is 35 for Mega Man 2 (NES), selling 1,510,000 copies – Proving that the Blue Bomber isn’t one of Capcom’s most successful exports, contrary to popular belief.
