Major Storyline DLC Coming to Grand Theft Auto V In 2014

by on December 10, 2013

Rockstar have announced plans to release “substantial” story DLC for Grand Theft Auto V in 2014 that will continue the adventures of Michael, Trevor and Franklin.

The studio also announced the latest updates to GTA Online and plans to introduce heists to the multiplayer portion of their open world crime epic.

A little note: Rockstar’s press release mentions that the storyline DLC will continue the character’s stories in “Southern San Andreas”. It strikes as a little odd because I can’t remember Rockstar ever referring to the map in this way.

Could it be a hint that a Northern San Andreas could be on the cards down the road in future DLC?

Anyway, starting today players will be able to Beta test GTA Online’s creator mode starting with the ability to create custom Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Race, GTA Race and Rally Race types.

Created game types can be shared via the Rockstar Social Club with the best community-created modes granted a “Rockstar Verified Jobs” seal of approval.

Later this month Capture mode will also be introduced to GTA:O. “A proper GTA twist on classic capture the flag, Capture mode brings territory infiltration and a new form of team-versus-team treachery into GTA Online,” reads a press release.

“Up to four squads battle to steal contraband, trucks, buses or whatever from opponents’ bases using high-speed vehicles, explosive weaponry and cunning teamwork.”

Further details on the four Capture variations – Raid, Contend, Hold and GTA –  will be given next week.

Further details on plans to introduce online co-op heists will be released in the New Year.
