Titanfall Multiplayer Limited to 12 players

by on January 8, 2014

Respawn Entertainment’s Vince Zampella confirmed via twitter, (which was spotted  by VG24/7) that the maximum player count in Titanfall will be 12 players, in two teams of 6. Needless to say fans of the game were not best pleased by this announcement, with many threatening to cancel their pre-orders.

Fortunately Zampella was on hand to calm people’s fears somewhat, saying that they tested many different team sizes with 6V6 coming out on top.

“it is incredibly fun, we did a lot if testing. It is all about what we found most fun”

“There are lots of AI, everyone can have a Titan in follow or guard mode too.”

Despite only having 12 players in a match, each of those players can have a mech follow them, so therefore there is the possibility for 12 players and 12 mech’s to be roaming the map at any one time, along with any AI bots that may also be present, so it sounds like the battlefields will still be very busy.

Titanfall managed to snag the number 3 spot in our Most Anticipated Games of 2014 and is set to launch in March.
