ObsCure Video Preview – Rising from Obscurity

by on June 9, 2013

The upcoming ObsCure game is a reboot of a series that started back in 2004. There were two games in the game’s previous incarnation, both of which received mediocre reviews across the board. There’s no harm then, in totally rebooting the game, keeping the same basic concept and changing the rest to see if it is more favourably accepted.

It also doesn’t hurt that there are more distribution platforms available now, with the advent of methods such as Steam, PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade, publishers no have a method of delivering their games to the public without as much expense from themselves. This is exactly the route that’s being taken with the ObsCure reboot and, as you’ll see from the video preview below, the new game has a very distinct art style the fits with the game’s distribution platforms perfectly.

ObsCure follows the same basic premise as those original games, the player can choose from a selection of characters – each with different abilities and reasons why they’re special – and take them through a selection of levels in an attempt to collect items, smash mutants into little pieces and get to the end of the stage.

If you’ve any questions about the game please feel free to drop them in the comment section below. Please also bare in mind that the footage is taken from an unfinished version of the game.

ObsCure is due to be released soon on PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Arcade and Windows PC.
