504x_8838-CCon1Well it would seem that Capcom and Mad Catz would like to take as much money from your average Street Fighter addict as possible. Today they released yet another “limited edition” fight stick (hopefully this one will actually be limited) that was being handed out at the San Diego Comic-Con. As you can see the differences compared to the “normal” stick are purely aesthetic with the decal design supposedly based on Sagat. There were only 500 sticks available in total, 250 Xbox 360 units and 250 units on the PS3. The sticks are only available at the event at the time of writing and are going for a nice fat figure of $179 (and you thought you had seen the last of those outrageous prices). The Saturn inspired game pad with a similar decal was also available at the event. Naturally only a true Street Fighter obsessive would feel the need to have one of these fight sticks or those who missed out on the previous incarnations of them. The Mad Catz crew had this to say about the stick/pads:

“When we set out creating the Limited Edition artwork we knew that we had to create an impactful design that was radically different from the previous imagery and color schemes. With that in mind we chose not to concentrate on a group of characters but instead produce something targeted to the fan community. After working through a number of designs, we focused on one of the strongest ‘fan-favorite’ characters in the game, Sagat. The character is renowned for his large scar which game legend tells us was caused by archrival Ryu. In my mind, playing Street Fighter® IV evokes the player’s competitive nature, with rivalry a key element of the experience.”
