Rock Band 3 Duets Pack Tuning Up for Valentine’s Day
Just in time for singing some two-player karaoke with your special someone on Valentine’s Day, Harmonix has announced the release of the February Heartache Duets Track Pack of songs for Rock Band 3. Typically the songs all share the themes of love and heartbreak. Due to the enhanced functionality of Rock Band 3, by default the songs feature five-button guitar and bass parts, drums, Pro Drums, and keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable, but some songs are also available with Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades, which can be bought for an additional $0.99.
Whilst content is usually released weekly, every tuesday, the Valentine’s pack will launch on February 11th, taking the place of content that would have normally been released on tuesday, Feb. 15. The featured tracks all comprise of original master recordings and they are as follows:
Animotion – “Obsession”
B.o.B. (featuring Hayley Williams) – “Airplanes”
Bonnie Tyler – “Total Eclipse of the Heart
The Human League – “Don’t You Want Me”
Lady Antebellum – “Need You Now”
Meat Loaf – “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”
Stevie Nicks – “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”
The Rock Band store now features more than 800 artists and more than 2,000 tracks to download. Some are also available as disc-based track packs, available at retail. Since its launch in November 2007 more than 75 million songs have been sold and downloaded through the Rock Band Music Store. With the announcement today that Activision will be discontinuing DLC support for Guitar Hero products, will Harmonix and their business model be affected in any way? Let’s hope they continue their dedicated support to their music marketplace.
The February Heartache Duets Pack will be available on February 11th in the Rock Band 3 Music Store, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii. It will be priced as listed below:

$0.99 USD, £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU (100 Wii Points/80 Microsoft Points) per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade
