Capcom Donating Sales Of Street Fighter IV iOS To EarthQuake Victims

by on March 16, 2011

The games industry can sometimes be a cynical place to exist inside, but sometimes there are things that just make you happy, and this is one of those things.

Capcom is distributing worldwide the iPhone version of “Street Fighter IV” at a price of 0.99 USD (115 yen in Japan) for one week starting on March 15, 2011 (Tuesday). All of our sales from this title during this period will be donated to support earthquake relief activities.

I’m sure we can all agree, this is a genuinely classy move by the guys and gals over at Capcom, but in a very real sense, this means you can grab the excellent Street Fighter IV on iOS and be helping charity, this is win-win guys!

Capcom also want to ensure their fans that they are all okay, and have had no casualities from the horrific events in Japan.

“Thanks to all of you who have expressed concern for Capcom staff based in Osaka and Tokyo following last week’s earthquake and I am pleased to say that all of our Japanese employees are safe and well. Our thoughts go out to the people of Japan and everyone who has been affected by this tragedy.”

You can buy Street Fighter IV from the App Store now, from the links below, UK and US Stores respectively.
