NBC Universal have once again entrusted one of their long-standing franchises to Telltale Games to receive the episodic gaming treatment. This time it is television crime drama Law & Order: Los Angeles which is going to get its own Adventure Game series. After their spate of recent announcements, Telltale now have a very crowded slate of games in development. A re-boot of the classic Sierra King’s Quest series is in the works, Hector: Badge of Carnage and Puzzle Agent 2 are also underway, as well as the current Back To The Future series. The soon-to-be released Jurassic Park action/adventure hybrid and adaptations of the comics books Fable and The Walking Dead are also forthcoming.

Telltale CEO Dan Connors went on to say that “Law & Order: LA fits very well with the style of episodic entertainment experiences Telltale has been building since our very first days. The talents and skills that we’ve been building at Telltale are ideally suited for the structure and storytelling approach of televised procedurals like Law & Order.” A website for the game had gone live, but had scant few details on the game itself and is currently down. Expect a lot more details on all of the new Telltale titles to be unveiled at E3 in June.

Law & Order: LA is due to be released in late 2011 on Windows PC, with console, smartphone and tablet releases also planned.
