New Batman: Arkham City Lockdown Update Features Poison Ivy and Robin - the Boy Wonder HimselfWarner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have already released a couple of updates for their Batman: Arkham City Lockdown App for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch in the past – which added the unhinged Harley Quinn as well as some additional skins and Achievements to the title. Well now they are happy to announce that another free update can be downloaded for the game, which makes another batch of improvements.

Firstly, the title has now been optimized for the release of the latest version of the iPad, allowing for a higher game resolution (now going up to 2048 x 1536), additional visual effects and detail. Added to that are some new hi-res wallpapers for gamers to make use of and an improved user interface system. But best of all, a new set of missions has been added which centers around Poison Ivy using her powers to take control of the minds of the gotham City Police Force in order to do her bidding. Somewhere along the way Robin is also ensnared by hew wiles, and Batman must face off against his friend and partner.

This update also adds four new Challenge missions in the Boss missions section, and a selection of related Achievements. Finally, to cap it all off, there will be three new DC comics unlocked in the Comixology Viewer in the app, so gamers can bring themselves up-to-speed with the Batman Universe somewhat. The update has been put together by Netherrealm Studios – the team behind the latest entry in the Mortal Kombat series – so you can be sure to enjoy some bone-crunching action.
