Kevin Conroy Won’t Be Putting the Mask Back on in Batman: Arkham Origins

It’s another case of the missing leading man, it seems. Via Kotaku, we’ve seen that South African gaming publication NAG Magazine has reported that Kevin Conroy will not be pulling on the cape for Batman: Arkham Origins.

Conroy has voiced Batman in many things ever since his first appearance as The Dark Knight in Batman: The Animated Series, including DC Universe Online, the recent Injustice and the first two instalments of Rocksteady’s recent Arkham series. Warner Bros’ upcoming prequel focuses on a Batman that isn’t the refined, crime-fighting machine we all know, and it appears that the developer is keen to get a younger actor for the role.

This is a bit of a trend, lately. Between Thief and Metal Gear Solid (although, Hayter could be the man under the mask), developers are changing things up for their leading men. It’ll be a shame to see Conroy not in the role, but it’ll be interesting to see who they get.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on October 25 for Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
