Halo 5: Guardians Is the Biggest Launch in Halo History
Microsoft just announced that Halo 5: Guardians is the fastest selling Xbox One exclusive game and has crossed $400 million in global sales. The franchise now sits at more than $5 billion overall.
In the UK, Halo 5’s day one revenue exceeded even Spectre (the James Bond movie) at £7.7 million compared to £6.3 million for Bond. Halo 5 also has been the most played game on Xbox One with 21 million hours of gameplay across all players. More than 568 million REQ cards have been acquired as well.
The good news for Halo 5 does not end there. Halo 5: Live won a Guinness World Record Title for the most watched video game broadcast ever with more than 5.5 million views that week.
