Final Fantasy III Released For iPad

by on April 21, 2011

Never has the title of a videogame series been more of a lie than that of Final Fantasy. Not only are Square currently developing Final Fantasy 47 they are also busily re-working some the early entries in the series for Apple’s iOS; specifically, in this case, the iPad.

The game is already available on the iPhone and iPod touch (it was released in March this year) but now all you fancy owners of fancy iPads will get to see what Square Enix’s game can look like with a bit more screen real estate.

The iPad version of Final Fantasy III will feature polygon, rather than sprite-based, graphics, totally re-worked touch screen controls and whole new ways to interface with the bestiary and menus.

The game retains its unique “job change” system for combat, with each character able to assume any of twenty-three different jobs, each with its own special abilities. Early games in the FF series are known for their great stories and this sequel is already getting some stocking-good reviews on the itunes store, so maybe this is as good a time as any to invest in a Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy 3 is being priced at £9.99 in the UK iTunes store and is available right now.
